Stories are a gift. They come to me from the journeys — I gather them, illustrate them, and tell them onward, so they keep living.
Zbieram baśnie tam, gdzie powstały — przy ogniu, na targu, na werandzie, w rozmowie z miejscowymi. Sycylia, Senegal, Nepal, Indie, Indonezja, Syria, Polska. Każdą zapisuję, ilustruję i opowiadam dalej — po polsku i po angielsku, dla dzieci i dorosłych.
I gather tales where they were born — by the fire, at the market, on the veranda, in conversation with local people. Sicily, Senegal, Nepal, India, Indonesia, Syria, Poland. Each one I write down, illustrate, and tell onward — in Polish and English, for children and adults.
